Summer Camp. There’s literally nothing like it. Where else do tons of college students line up to scream your name like you’re famous and part of the latest Taylor Swift music tour?
There’s nothing like your new summer sneakers hitting the pavement at Miracle Camp. You get this sigh of relief…you’re home. Your mind races because what will you do first? Check in, only because you have to, but then you have to know who your counselor is, what cabin you’re staying in, and who your cabin buddies are.
Things hit the ground running. You have 12 new BFF’s by dinner time. You’re already wondering how you could have JUST met these people that you feel like you’ve known forever. The cool part is, they’re thinking it too. Camp has a way of doing that…creating indescribable bonds in the blink of an eye. It’s a place where the presence of Jesus is so undeniable. Those who don’t know His love, feel it, see it, and want it. Jesus uses Camp as a vessel for His Spirit to roam freely. It invades the hearts on the grounds, opening doors and breaking down walls in order for life-change to happen.
And then you begin to notice something. Jesus is working through the subtleties. Life-change is happening.
This is what it’s about. You see the Lord moving. You feel your heart opening. You begin to surrender. Relinquishing control of your life is no easy task, but you’re up for the challenge because HIS love is better. And when you reach that point, it no longer matters who’s team won Goldrush. It makes no difference how many times you got to Zip Line or play Gaga Ball. It’s all about Jesus transforming hearts. His love is so real, perfect, and genuine. It’s changing your life and you thought you were just signing up for a week of Chipwiches and the Blob.
Camp is in the business of changing lives. We see the way the Lord moves here and we make it no secret. His love is mighty and powerful. Being part of this mission is rewarding and essential to the growth that will happen this summer. Will you fill the crucial role you play? Will you commit to prayer, invest in these students once their home, and contribute to the life-change? Like I said, Jesus is working through the subtleties. It’s in the small moments where the mighty love of Christ is being shown. Keep up with these moments throughout the summer by visiting our website and Facebook page. More photos like this well posted every week. More moments of God’s grace and mercy will be documented every week. Don’t miss this.
