Miracle Camp and Retreat Center has partnered with the Lawton Volunteer Fire Department to bring added safety to the campers that stay here each week.  Thanks to Tim Sepla, Fire Chief, who has helped check the grounds and prepare his crew for an emergency.

The Lawton Fire Department has also helped out with a committment to creating the best week of a camper's life.  For junior and senior high weeks they have again agreed to come out and help spray campers with hoses after our "Fight Night."  This was a blast last year and we apprecaite their help.

Our committment to safety extends beyond fire safety.  We have recently consulted with the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department for advice on natural disasters, evacuation techniques, and property security.  We take safety very seriously to make this a great place for you to enjoy!

This summer we are contracting with Bunk1.com to handle out camper emails.  If you are interested in emailing your camper while they are here at MC for a week be sure to visit the email site at http://miraclecamp.bunk1.com.  You will need to signup for a username and password.  Bunk1 will compile all the emails from each day and send us one email with all the messages sorted by cabin to allow you to communicate more reliably, and quicker with your child.  If you have any questions please contact us.

We are also still in need of nurses for a couple weeks this summer.  If you or anyone you know is interested in coming up and volunteering for a week please email us at jason@miraclecamp.com.  Here are the weeks that are still needed:

June 15-21   Junior High 1

June 22-28   Middle School 1

July 13-19   Junior High 2

We are still in need of guy camp aides for the summer!  The sessions that have openings are  session 2 and 3.  The dates are June 22-July 2 for session 2 and July 13-26 for session 3.

Thanks to a work team from Archbold, OH, we have a refreshed waterfront area.  More than 100 yards of fresh new sand was brought in to improve the beach area.  The work team helped remove old fencing from the area and make the area safer.

We are also looking forward to the completion of the new blob tower and waterslide which is underway.

The horse corral has finally been completed for this year's horseback riding activity.  We have partnered with True Vine Equestrian Center to provide horseback riding for both of the grade school camp sessions.  Riding will be available as an activity class for extended times of learning and also as a recreational activity during free time for campers.  Free time riding will take place in this corral that was just completed.  Classes will be able to participate in trail rides around the camp property.  We are excited about this new opportunity.

A special thanks to the men from man camp who were able to help out with the construction of this corral.

It is Spring at Miracle Camp and everything is breathing new life...even among the staff here!

Kyle and Nikki Douglass are celebrating the birth of their daughter Genevieve Joy (Evie) who was born on February 27th of this year.

Jason and Emily Coon are celebrating the birth of their son Braden Roy who was born just this past week on April 15.

If you missed Man Camp this past weekend, you missed out!  This is quite possibly the manliest weekend you have ever experienced.

The weekend included a Miracle Man competition with a Scottish caber toss, paintball, zip line, trap shooting, and much more.  The highlight was our 30 foot long grill in which every man hand selected and grilled their own steak!

Miracle Camp and Retreat Center has recently partnered with True Vine Equestrian Center to bring Horse back Riding to Miracle Camp summer camps!  The horse back riding will be available during the two grade school camp sessions.  The class will occur during the student's elective activity portions of the day.  Each student will receive an hour of riding and an hour of horse instruction.  For more information check our our summer camp brochure online.
