Why Miracle Camp Exists

By | MC Squared | No Comments

A lot has happened since the beginning of Miracle Camp 52 years ago. We have been able to see many different people come through our doors, construct new buildings, and implement lots of fun activities. As thankful as we are for all these things, however, none of this is why we do what we do. Our mission here at Miracle Camp is to facilitate life change by helping people grow close to God and to glorify Jesus Christ. This mission affects every single part of what we do: from programmed events like Man Camp or Ice Camp to guest groups and family reunions. More than anything we do, we greatly desire to see guests understand who Jesus is and trust in Him wholeheartedly.

Our mission supports all of the things that happen here at camp. We desire to continue to serve more and more guests, continue to add awesome games and activities, and construct more housing and buildings but we do all of these with Jesus at the center. We understand that this place exists for more than just the relaxation and fun of camp; we exist to lift high the name of Jesus and see more and more people come to know Him.

There are 5 different ways we as a camp try to live by our mission. We strive to have gracious hospitality, affordable quality, creative programs, biblical focus, and church partnerships. Throughout the next few weeks, we will touch on each of these and how they support Miracle Camp’s mission.

Help Us End This Year Well!

43,379 is a 2017 milestone.

In the mid-1900s, facilitating youth retreats became a prevalent way of reaching the next generation; those camps appeared to be effective in communicating the message and love of Jesus. As a result, in 1965, a group of churches concluded its search for a suitable place to permanently anchor their annual youth summer camps, a permanent place to support the ministry of the local church. Through the sacrificial dedication of a few men and women, the dream of Miracle Camp became a reality.

Today, we are humbled that God continues to choose to use this place. In 2017, the number of lives that have been impacted since our inception by our Summer Camp program alone reached 43,379. Every person in that number matters because each represents an individual who is loved by Jesus. Amazingly, that number is only the beginning as it does not include our other programmed events, like Ice Camp, Man Camp, Women’s Retreat, Family Camp, Parent/Child Camps and Marriage Retreats, or our guest group registrations. Combining those means the lives impacted reaches into hundreds of thousands.

That number is not for our glory. God has chosen to use this place for His purposes, and He continues to show Himself in mighty ways. We believe God has positioned this place to be a catalyst that impacts the world for many years to come. Our heart’s desire is to bring others to Christ and equip them to spread His Word!

As you reflect on how God has impacted your life, please prayerfully consider joining us in this mission with a gift. You will be making a significant Kingdom investment. Miracle Camp depends upon the voluntary generosity of affiliated churches and supporting individuals. Your contributions help us share the hope that is found in Jesus, impact lives for the kingdom, and strengthen the ministry of the local church. Our First Fall Man Camp is Almost Here!

By | MC Squared, Men's Retreat (Man Camp) | No Comments

Our first Fall Man Camp is just a couple weeks out now! We are so excited to be adding Man Camp to the fall schedule. This Man Camp will include all of the usual favorites, the bacon room (always stocked with bacon you can make whenever you want), man lounges, and grill your own steak night! We also are stoked to be right in the middle of the college football season and will be streaming the best games all weekend. The speaker for this fall will be Brian Clay. Brian Clay has been the speaker at previous Man Camps and we are pumped to have him back.

We also will be having a work day the Friday before Man Camp begins where men can come early and volunteer and help out around camp. Stay tuned for what the project will be this fall.

The Fall Man Camp will be November 3-5. If you would like more information on the activities, prices, or any other information about Man Camp, head to www.miraclecamp.com/mancamp!

Even though it’s only October, we know that your youth group is already planning next summer. If you are looking for an awesome service trip or missions trip here in the U.S. for your youth group, our Shake-Up Kalamazoo program might be what you’re looking for!

Shake-Up Kalamazoo is a youth service programed designed to teach junior high and high school students the value of having a Christ-like life. Shake-Up  gives students the opportunity to serve the Kalamazoo community while also sharing their faith with others. In the evenings, students will return to camp for worship, teaching, and debriefing while also participating in different camp activities such as the blob, waterfront, zipline, and high ropes.

We’re Only $36,000 Away!!

By | Keeping Faith, MC Squared, MC Squared: Church Leaders, MC Squared: Parents, MC Squared: Retreat Organizers | No Comments

Thanks to your help and support, we are only $36,000 away from meeting our $300,000 match for the Evergreen Project! Starting last year, a donor came to us with this matching opportunity to completely fund the Evergreen Project. We are blown away by the generosity and selflessness of all who have helped but we still need your help to completely fund this renovation. Any gift, big or small, is appreciated!

As we look to continue to improve camp, our guests are always on the front of our minds. Our goal throughout this whole campaign is to increase capacity so more people can hear the message of Jesus Christ, improve the safety of our guests, and focus on stewardship towards the local church.

We again want to thank you for your prayers and support. Without you none of this would be possible!
